I think that one of my biggest challenges right now is fatigue. E is a night owl and isn't sleeping through the night yet, but J is an early bird. I am usually fine until things start to get hectic, then I am very easily frustrated by things that wouldn't normally bother me.
Pastor Scott gave an excellent visual last week that has helped me tremendously. He called his wife up to sit next to him and had her close her eyes. He said that Father is always right there (like he was next to his wife) even though we may not feel him all of the time. Sometimes He is hugging us, has his arm around us, whispers to us, or sometimes He is simply THERE. We may not feel Him, but we are never alone. It is simple and something that I have always known, but it just struck me differently to see the visual.
The promise that I see in these passages is that since I am one of His sheep, he knows me and what I am experiencing. If I stop tyring to do it all myself and call out to Him, He promises to hear me.
I love these verses in Jeremiah. I have read them over and over and they often come to mind during difficult times. It is so encouraging to me that God knows everything. He knows the plans He has for me and they are for good! I think I tend to believe the lie that I'm going to be in this season of life forever and feel tired the rest of my life. However, I have to remember that during the chaos of the day I just have to look for Him and He's there. I think I too often forget to look for Him and then end up frustrated and discouraged. I know the times when I do stop and look and find Him, the day is so much better.
I still don't have my book. I had to order one, but I will play catch up when it gets here!
