What stands out to me most in this scripture is that Christ is powerful, yet gentle. The part about "He gently leads those who have young" gives me a great deal of peace because I know for sure that Zach and I can't do it alone. It also makes me more aware and focused more on trying to be gentle when I guide my own children, when they are disobedient or even just when I am pressed for time and trying to get out the door.

The passage in John really spoke to my heart. Christ is the good shepherd and He knows us. I'm always in awe of how He can know each of us so intimately. It made me think of my relationship with my kids and how I know each of them so well. I know what makes each of them tic and how to relate to each of them differently. Christ speaks to each of us in our own language and because of that each of us hears his voice and follows. Just as we as christians are all different yet have the same shepherd and are part of the same family, our kids are each uniquely differnt yet all part of one family and it's our responsibilty to lead them and sacrifice for them.
