The Devil Is an Opportunist

The enemy often tries to sneak in and weigh us down during our struggles. Have you noticed this happening in your life at times? What messages would the enemy have you believe? Eldredge recommeds having a quick repsonse of prayer, recommending something like, "Lord Jesus, please give me eyes to see when I am being attacked. And give me the courage to face it, and deal with it."

I definetly notice the enemy attacking during my struggles. He is an opportunist and looks for any angle to get in and make a mess of things. I'm much better at recognizing when I'm under attack and do go straight to God. I feel so much more peace after talking to God and I know he is fighting this battle and winning.

I that this is one area that God has been making me more aware - that the enemy is attacking and that he will take any and every opportunity that he can to beat us down. God has also recently shown me that even just knowing that something is an attack gives us more power and we can take the power back from the enemy if we stop and realize what is going on, not just chalking it up to "things being hectic" or something else.

We know how the story ends - the enemy is defeated! That is already done because he was defeated when Christ died on the cross!
