Rest

Eldredge talks about the importance of rest. Have you been taking the time that you need to rest and recharge? Do you have a regular time set aside for this? When and how can you make sure that you take an opportunity to rest this week?

I do feel like I have been getting time to rest. Right now Z is still studying for his CPA exams. Usually after all of the boys go down for the night he starts studying and I will do something that helps me "rest". Sometimes it is working on this blog, preparing for cell group, reading the Word or some other book. It may not sound like rest, but it is much needed time to work on my walk with God and to focus on Him.
I am just getting back into my "rest" time. I usually use nap time for my rest time. I take about 30 minutes to do things I need to get done or check email. Then I gather all my reading material (I'm reading alot of books right now)and head to the couch. I'd like to say everyday is fruitful but some days I fall asleep after the first paragraph of the first book. I guess those are the days, God knows I really need a nap!
I need to figure out how to rest. Can moms really find time to rest? If on the rare occasion my boys go down for a nap together I usually spend that time either cleaning or cooking and if those two things can hold off for a while then I spend time with Him in the Word. (I know ....not the best prioritization).
See now....baby crying...gotta go!
