My husband is gifted with leadership, teaching and faith. He is great at providing just enough structure, but is still a "fun daddy". He and I balance each other out well in bringing joy and laughter into the home. If one of us gets too serious, the other one will always find some way to make each other or the kids laugh. I tend to be a scaredy cat when it comes to the boys trying things that would be fun, but I may think "but they could get hurt". He forces me to relax so that they are able to experience things that they should be allowed to experience as boys.

C (our 4 year old) loves music and is interested in both the instruments and the lyrics. He has a beautiful voice (if I do say so myself) and is old enough to understand that he can use it for praise. He is the classic oldest child and is the protector. He does get into fights with J, but when it comes down to it, he really watches out for both his brothers and his mom! He is very considerate and compassionate.

J (our 2 year old) also loves music and is full of adventure. He fears nothing and wants to know how everything works. He makes us all laugh with his adorable comments and silly dancing. He loves to snuggle and is also very caring and a wonderful caretaker.

E (not quite 6 mo) is just starting to show his adorable personality. Right now our family goes to great lengths just to hear his sweet laugh. He loves to look at us sweetly and then quickly look away, as if he is shy. He repeats this over and over as long as you laugh at him.

We try to help the boys explore any new interest that they have, which helps us all learn more about that subject and shows them that what they enjoy is important to the rest of us. Music is a biggie in our house. None of us are exceptional vocalists or play instruments (yet), but music is just a big part of who we are as a family. We use it as a form of praise, communication, just sing, dance and act goofy together.
