Someone is always watching, whether we know it or not. Wherever we go, whatever we do, we are modeling behaviors and attitudes, good or bad, to those around us.
Building relationships with others is essential. Sharing our lives with others is a part of that, if we are going to be able to openly and honestly build true relationships with others. In building relationships, we are automatically modeling for others.
I really liked what Yates wrote about Christian homes not being where perfect parents live. They don't look down on others who are also imperfect. It is not a place where you will observe perfect behabior.(pg 168-kind of skipping a little to the next chapter, but it still goes with this topic) We cannot put on a mask for others. We need to be real. We all make mistakes and have strengths and weaknesses--and that is OK. Some things that I have leanred from some of my role models is in watching how they handle themselves and the situation when they fail or make a mistake.
