Meditate on Psalm 46

What promises do I see in this psalm that encourage me in this season?

It's encouraging to know that God is always with me. He's my refuge and strength and always ready to help in times of trouble. In the midst of all the things decribed in this Psalm, He says "be still and know that I am God."

How often are we still in our troubles? How ofen do we remember that He is God? In the midst of these toddler years I need to be still and know He is God. He is in control, He blessed me with these three precious children, and He knows what I'm going through. My challenge is to honor Him admidst all the chaos.

I got roughly the same message as Julie, but with a different part of the passage stuck out at me. The Psalm reminds me that the Father is always with us. He has complete control of every situation - ALL things fall under his command. That is so comforting to me! "He lifts His voice, the earth melts." Wow! Whate else can you really say? All He has to do is speak and EVERYTHING is under His command.

So many times we worry or become frustrated by the small stuff. If we can't trust Him to take care of the small stuff, how are we going to remember to go to Him or have total faith with the big stuff?
