God has shown me several new things that have really made a difference lately. My biggest frustrations had been a lack of focus during the little amount of quiet time that I was able to squeeze in, along with too little sleep and being quick to become frustrated during the day.
Remembering that this is just a season and that I will once again be able to sleep though the night has helped. The Father is teaching me something during this time, although I may not know exactly what it is, I know it is all part of His plan. Turning frustrations into praise has also helped me refocus and be more patient with my children when it seems like chaos.
This week I also started my prayer journal again. That is really helping me to hand over worries to Him, see the work that He is doing in my life and in the lives of those around me and maintain a better focus in my prayer life. I was also able to set up what Zach calls my "hiding place" for quiet time. I don't always have my quiet time in that particular spot, but if I need an escape place, it is there!
The concept that God gave my husband and me different strengths and weaknesses is a great revelation for me. I always new that we complemented each other, however, that it should make me grow as a person is a new thought for me. I don't know why I never thought of that before. It sheds new light on our relationship and our dynamic.
I have been trying to refocus my time and get back to having a quiet time during the kids nap. It's been going pretty well but I still need to work on putting everything aside and clearing my mind and being faithful to this time each day, even on weekends!
I'm also trying to play more with the kids and spend more time enjoying them rather than yelling at them all the time. Some days are better than others, but the good days outnumber the bad ones.
I'm also trying to make sure I'm rested to spend time with Jeff each night. His schedule is so erratic that its hard to find time to be together. If I make an effort to set time aside for him each night, we are able to talk and get caught up and feel connected.
